Tubing down the Elora Gorge

Introduction[edit]

My name is Corrine Gibson and I am a fourth year student in Biological Science. I'm taking this course as an elective because I feel it is important to have a good understanding of how computers affect our everyday activities, especially from a social aspect.

Personal Life[edit]

I was born in Toronto and lived there until my family moved to Wasaga Beach [1]. Between the two cities I have moved over 18 times. In grade 11 I was picked by Rotary International to be a student ambassador to Brazil for a year. While there, I learned to speak Portuguese fluently and got to learn to surf. The experience was truly amazing and it still remains one of the best years of my life.

Brazil[edit]

When people think of Brazil they normally think of the Amazon or Rio de Janeiro, but that is actually a really small part of the country. I lived on the Northeast coast in a city called Recife. It has about 2 million people and some of the most beautiful beaches on Earth [2].

Education[edit]

  1. High School at Jean Vanier High School in Collingwood
  2. University of Guelph

My hobbies[edit]

I try to keep myself busy as I get bored very easily. I work more than full time between 3 jobs. When I'm not working I have many interests. They include:

  • Reading
  • Camping and canoeing
  • Playing in a rec-level beach volleyball league
  • Volunteering on campus in a Molecular biology lab
