Nancy Fried Foster

Nancy Fried Foster is an American library anthropologist. She is the daughter of cultural anthropologist Morton Herbert Fried and author Martha Nemes.

Foster earned her Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology at Columbia University, and did her early field work in Brazil among the Wapisiana people. She also did research in England, Guyana, Venezuela, and Papua New Guinea.[1] She is now senior anthropologist at Ithaka S+R, where she helps libraries and organizations understand their users and design better spaces, services, and technologies.
