notes to self[edit]

To-do list[edit]

  • Get a list of the largest articles and add an edit-top tag to them so the top section can be easily edited. Remember, section-0 edits work even without the tag.
  • Modify AfC backlog "see yesterday" template to include "see previous" and "see next," hopefully without subst:.
  • airports by code lists: Tag and eventually AfD empty pages, but check with appropriate projects and editors before AfD'ing. For list in use, add an external link to each list page so someone can go there, type in the code, and get useful information on that airport. Do similar for other lists, like radio stations.
  • Create a "progress bar" template that stretches any picture to fit an arbitrary percent of a specified rectangle, with growth in one of several directions, left to right and bottom to top being the easiest. Check for existing similar templates first.
  • On August 17, revert special instructions for the AFC backlog page and make sure all "completed" marks are correct.
  • Create templates for games listed in [[1]] and list of pinball games to make it trivial to add non-notable games to the list of games & generae links. Put the same template into the existing pinball-article template.

More todo[edit]

Make a "disputed" template that puts ^[disputed[REFERENCE]] in-line and a normal reference in the references section.

{{citation disputed|ref=...}} creates disputed[1]

or {{citation disputed|url=...}} creates disputed, see [{{{url}}}]

dubious -- Add "livingperson=name" parameter to all fact/unreferenced templates, if present, add to category "reference problems involving living persons" or similar. -- Create templates for articles that transclude other articles and for those that are transcluded into them. In the template put a "whattrancludesthis" link if possible.

Wikipedia:List of missing journals[edit]

  • To-do: write program to search list of journal articles against wikipedia main space and generate a count.
  • Get a list of journals from a library or other source. Get a list that has info suitable for filling in the template and making a stub article. Check list against what Wikipedia already has. Then create a few hundred articles at a time and post them.

Article Creation List[edit]

Lists articles I've created or totally rewritten that aren't listed elsewhere.

How to add a 0 tab[edit]

This note on the Village Pump shows you how to add a "0" tab next to the "edit this page" tab. It is like an edit link but just for the top section. See the edit.

Test of replacement afc top template. Note that I am NOT using subst: in this example, but real users will use subst:. Note the additional section heading added by the mm version is not editable if subst: is not used. This could cause some confusion. I should probably add code to prevent this from being used without a subst:
