Donal Lang was born in Cardiff, Wales on May 25th 1954. He is a designer and inventor in engineering and architecture, working mostly in the UK and South of France, under the name of Don Lang Design. Notable designs include: Island Harbour Marina, Isle of Wight 1987 (in co-operation with Tony Allies, Architect). RibCat catamaran, folding rescue boat, 1997. ColourMark, floating navigation mark, first installed Portsmouth Harbour 1998. Plasti Pile, a composite structural pile, winner of UK Government SMART Awards, 2000 and 2001.
