Dr Sam is an Australian General Practitioner. He is a host of Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, and a Director of three general practices in Sydney.

Dr Sam is one of the charismatic presenters on the Australian version of the hit UK show Embarrassing Bodies.

He completed his studies at The University of Tasmania, graduating in 1999. He worked at the Royal Hobart Hospital for two years before moving to Sydney to undertake his first posting with the Army as a trained combat medical officer. It was here that he served as the Regimental Medical Officer for the Army’s parachute infantry regiment (3 RAR) and had the honour of being rewarded for his leadership with six deployments over his five years as a full-time army medical officer – the highlight to Afghanistan as a helicopter retrieval doctor, plus he worked in coalition trauma hospitals caring for injured coalition soldiers and local nationals.

Dr Sam has been a practicing general practitioner since 2005 and is now a director of one of Sydney’s most successful GP practices, Your Doctors in the inner west suburbs of Leichardt and Summer Hill. At Your Doctors, he focuses on a multitude of issues that affect young families aided by his postgraduate training in Sports Medicine and Paediatrics. Dr Sam is a consultant for the Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran Mental Health Clinical Reference Group.

When Dr Sam isn’t busy working he is often found at the gym, in the surf, or spending time with his family. He is an avid health and fitness ambassador and strongly encourages everyone he meets and his patients to get out there and start moving.

Dr Sam is involved in a number of public campaigns and he works closely with various health charities to help look for new ways to educate people in health matters.
