Pierre Michel Hennin (1728–1807), French author, diplomat, politician

Son of Jean Michel Hennin and his wife, Angélique née Léger. He entered the foreign ministry in 1749 and was entrusted with various missions. Personal secretary to the French ambassador in Poland, then French resident 1759–1764; French resident in Geneva 1765–1777; he later became permanent secretary (premier commis) of the foreign ministry. He was a member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres.
