Ears is the codename for a former Hells Angels Associate who turned good guy after his friend Robert E. MacFarlane was murdered by the Hells Angels. Ears supplied the Angels with product, and was a powerful Associate with the same power as a full Patch member.

In Febuary 1997, Robert MacFarlane was gunned down in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in a contract hit. The Halifax Chapter was David (Wolf) Carroll's boy scouts which was lead by Michael Shawn McCrea, President of the Chapter. Ears started to inform local newspapers about Hells Angels' plans. Halifax Daily News and Halifax Herald wrote stories on the Halifax club and David Carroll of the Montreal Nomads of Montreal. Ears also gave information to author Julian Sher who later wrote Highway to Hell and Angels of Death. He was mentioned in both books.

Ears has "turned a new leaf" working to ensure that Hells Angels will not fly a flag in Nova Scotia again. His real name stays a guarded secret. All reports and writers just know him as Ears. They are only able to communicate with Ears via e-mail or phone.

Ears was mentioned in quarterly Nathans Crime Reports from York University of Toronto, Ontario.

With the information that Ears gave to Halifax media, Halifax Police was able to close the Halifax Hells Angels' club house. The Halifax members just faded away. President Michael S. McCrea lives in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. The police still cannot arrest him, yet. Michael Christansen moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, and now is with the East Side Chapter of the Hells Angels with his old Nova Scotia buddy David Giles who was with the Halifax Chapter back in the 1980s.

Neil Smith is serving twenty-five years imprisonment for the murder of Sean Simmons. Clay McCrea is on parole for drug dealing. Arthur Harrie is in Windsor, Nova Scotia, and on parole for drug dealing. Daniel Fitzsimmoms was ejected from the Hells Angels for money debts. Jeffery Lynds Committed Sucide in Montreal , "Dead Rat".

According to the book "Highway to Hell" and what Ears told the Halifax media, Jeffery Lynds was involved in the murder of Kirk Mersereau, brother of Randall Mersereau, the former vice-president of the Hells Angels in Halifax back in the 1980s who vanished on October 31, 2000. It is believed that David (Wolf) Carrol gave the orders to hit Mersereau and President Chapter of Nova Scotia Michael McCrea instructed Jeffery Lynds murder Randy Mersereau and buried the body around the Lynds homestead. But it was Jeffery Lynds and his crew who killed Randy Mersereau. Mersereau was in talks with the Bandidos Motorcycle Gang to talk over Nova Scotia from the Hells Angels, When word got to Wolf Carroll the shit hit the fan and Carroll was out for blood, Mersereau blood.
