Anthropology Major.

Bold Italic Big text Small text

Ideas:

Akawaio Tribe: Has a page about its language, but nothing about the tribe itself.

Ed Henke: He's my grandfather and he plays for the 49ers and has a Facebook page but not a lot of information. Since he his my grandfather, I'll be able to get some info to add to the page.

Head of the Lagoon/Port/American: These are fall regatta's that aren't covered on Wikipedia. I'm considering on starting a page about one of them, probably Head of the Lagoon in Foster City, CA.

My major project will probably be the Akawaio Tribe. It will be interesting to learn about the customs and practices of a tribe that exists in South America, plus it will cover all aspects of Anthropology which is a plus!

Exercise One 9/20/11: Evolution page states, "A common misconception is that evolution has goals or long-term plans; realistically however, evolution has no long-term goal and does not necessarily produce greater complexity. Although complex species have evolved, they occur as a side effect of the overall number of organisms increasing and simple forms of life still remain more common in the biosphere."

This statement falls under NPOV because it it presents a argument regarding the idea of plans with evolution. Though it does fall towards a statement, it doesn't rule out the idea of plans with evolution as a bad idea.

Exercise One 9/22/11: Group Name: AF5 Project Name: Uses of Marijuana for Medical Purposes Amongst People Description: Our group will be researching the statistics of people who carry medical marijuana cards, along with the uses of the cards and marijuana amongst different ethnic backgrounds. Group Members: Powerto19, Anthro135_JDK, Crustyshampoo, Ocean415Beach Five Pillars Promise: Keep a neutral standpoint as to if we agree to the uses of medical marijuana and to whom the uses is more weighed upon.

Exercise Two 9/28/11: Pronounced ‘the citizens’ compendium of everything’, Citizendium is a project for Wikipedia put together by Larry Sanger. This project was to help increase Wikipedia’s reliability by monitoring unprofessional behaviors and oversight of all contributions which would be reviewed by credentialed topic experts. It began in September 2006 and was abandoned thanks to the high favor of original articles.
