The Aswan Dam and the Great Pyramids

The Aswan Dam:
in the middle of water
highly relevant for the national economy
sophisticated statics
serves life (through irrigation)
low in a riverbed
useful for everybody
... furthermore a motivation for heavy industry, unions and/or democracy (... and the pyramid of influence, which mistranslates via German to "a-river-pyramid"?)

Hint: It's worth to consider the implications. (One implication could be "don't work for deities, ask for the corporate social responsibility policies first".)

Humorous misinterpretation: Being a large^π-scale project the pyramids should cause rain (like any other mountain range) and thus bring water into the desert. This plan is, of course, underwater^π, where a dam wall should be.
