Roblox is an online gaming platform that was launched in 2007 and has rapidly gained popularity, especially among Generation Z. It currently has 115 million active users worldwide, surpassing Minecraft's user count in 2019. The majority of players on Roblox are under 16 years old, with children between the ages of 9 and 12 being particularly drawn to the platform. It is one of the top five most-watched games on YouTube, with many gamers recording their gameplay and sharing it on the platform. Roblox advertises itself as an 'Imagination Platform' that allows users to develop or play millions of 3D online games. Users can download the Roblox app on their computer, game console, phone, or tablet to access the gaming environment. Roblox provides a variety of games in different genres and also offers tools for users to create their own games. It acts as a mini social platform, allowing users to add friends and chat. The platform is considered safe for children to use, because of privacy settings that can enable restrictions on the account from the parent, so the child's account can be protected.
