The Gammadion or rather the tetra-gammadion is a swastika. Although the swastika had been used as a symbol of Nazi Germany and the Nazi Party, it also is being used by Buddhist Associations and even alchemists. It symbolizes the four cardinal corners of this world and the guardianship of this world in traditional alchemy.
It is to be noted that the Buddhist, Christian (old world) and Native American swastikas point to the left and are not at an angle, and the Nazi swastika points to the right and is also at a 45 degree angle.
