The Institut supérieur des mines et de la géologie de Boké (ISMGB) is a higher-learning establishment in Guinea, located in Tamakènè in the city of Boké^[1].

Placed under the la tutelle du ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche scientifique, c'est le plus ancien des instituts d'enseignement supérieur de la région de Boké. It teaches about 200 engineers per year.

Location[edit]

L'ISMGB was housed at the site which served as a base for les travaux de démarrage de la compagnie OFAB-CBG notably the railroad, the port and the two cities. Located 5 km from downtown next to the la route nationale vers la cité minière de Sangarédi^[2]

History[edit]

In 1962, the Department of mines and geology was created in Institut Polytechnique de Conakry and in the framework of a policy of decentralization of institutions of higher learning (IES) in the Republic of Guinea. It was transferred to Boké in 1972 and was elevated to an institut supérieur in 1990^[3]
