Fun Stuff[edit]

High Chairs[edit]

In 2007 Jacob's wife Chrissy ordered a high chair online. When it arrived it was the wrong color due to a patter change at the manufacturer. The company authorized an exchange, but when the replacement arrived it was still the wrong color. The company refused to accept the high chair back due to a color discrepancy. Jacob created a website within minutes explaining the situation including specifics regarding the company, phone representatives, and photographs of the highchair on line and in reality.

During the second phone call Jacob told the company's rep. to look at the website. Immediately she apologized, issued the return shipping labels, and asked the site be changed to show the company's proactive measures to resolve the issue.

Lesson: "This phone call may be monitored for quality assurance" goes both ways. The consumer is empowered.
