Considering that race policy led to the catastrophic American Civil War it is understandable that Wikipedia has edit wars over the definition of race.

In the biological view, race is defined by continental ancestry. In the modern denial, the term is socially constructed, without a scientific basis.

Old abandoned explanation

This word has been defined by different communities in different ways at different times. Each community may define the word as they wish, but to communicate in the world at large, and to communicate at Wikipedia without suffering edit wars, all must use another word or a hyphenated word such as race-geo and race-anthro.

The term race-geo is for the community that defines race by the geography of ancestral location. The term race-geo is defined the way the census bureau and the courts define it.
