John Yaldwyn[edit]

John Yaldwyn was born in Wellington, New Zealand.

He is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, he has a Bachelor of Science degree with post graduate study in France at École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications.

Background[edit]

John has been involved with amateur radio and search and rescue communications since 1975. He holds the amateur radio call sign ZL4JY.

Current Roles[edit]

Professional role is as CTO of 4RF Limited.

Communications Advisor, LandSAR Wellington, on-call subject matter advisor to Police and LandSAR Wellington for communications issues, both technical and interoperability.

Technical Advisor Amateur Radio Emergency Communications New Zealand.

Member of the Victoria University Engineering Advisory Board, the New Zealand Search and Rescue Council’s Consultative Committee, LandSAR Inc, NZART Inc, life member AREC, and life member of the Wellington VHF Group, Inc. Previously a member of APCO.
