Update[edit]

A little background: I'm a technical consultant in the Internet of things space, with particular specialities in firmware, device drivers, Linux, and cloud technologies. My market areas include set-top box and multimedia technologies, Smart Cities and non-military aerospace - there's at least one satellite already in orbit with my code on board, and several more launching in the next year or two.

I'm not going to discuss my client list, but, in the light of recent proposed rules changes, I want to disclose that whilst I've occasionally updated articles with information about clients, based on what I've learnt whilst working with them, I have never been asked to do so, nor been paid to do it. The clients in question have not even been aware of my edits except in retrospect. I have never, and would never, edit an article with information that would compromise client confidentiality - and I would never contribute a paid edit without explicitly disclosing it. In all likelihood, I would be unlikely to accept payment for such work anyway, as it could be held to compromise my editorial independence. Jonsg (talk) 23:37, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
