EMU Dining: Eastern Eateries[edit]

EMU Dining: Eastern Eateries Is a food court that contains seven different shops. The Eastern Eateries is located on Eastern Michigan University's campus between Phelps-Sellers and Walton-Putnam, also known as the first-year center.

History[edit]

Before 1988, the lower level of the first-year center was open and called DC2 (Dinning Commons 2), which contained a Taco Bell and a sandwich place. In 1988, DC2 was shut down and was named the Eastern Eateries and was moved to the top level. In 2009, UpperCrust and Wrap It Up was recently renamed and remodled. Before 2009, the UpperCrust was Sbarros and Wrap It Up Was Healthy Stop. In 2009 The Market To Go was also added to the Eastern Eateries. The Market To Go was added to help EMU students to stay heathly.

Setup[edit]

The Eastern Eateries now contain:A&W, Freshens, Market To Go, Jump Asian Cuisine, Sunset Strips, UpperCrust, and Wrap It Up. The Eastern Eateries, which is part of the first year center has four doors that enter the dinning area. There is one door leading into the Eastern Eateries leading from Phelps-Sellers dorms and another door leading from Walton-Putnam. There is also a door that leads from the outside of campus that leads into the dinning area. The food court is surrounded by all six shops with the Market To Go and a Salad bar placed in the center. All six shops that surround the food court have a register but there is are two main registers where people actually pay for their food before entering the dining room. The Eastern Eateries accepts many different payment plans such as: cash, meal plan, flex plan E-dollars, eagle express, block plan, and credit/debit[1]
