Tottenham Player of the Season Awards

The Tottenham Player of the Season award is a seasonal men's football award (previously an annual award) given to the Tottenham Hotspur player deemed to have performed the best for the club that season. The award is one of the older ‘end of season’ club awards having been awarded since 1987, Gary Mabbutt being the inaugural winner of the award. The winner was announced in December, at the end of the calendar year from 1987 to 2004, before being changed to a seasonal award following the 2005-06 season. Following the pattern of other Premier League clubs, the number of awards has rapidly expanded, starting in 2010, where seven awards were presented compared to just the single player of the season award handed out following the previous season. Currently there are four awards given out at the end of each season. These are the ‘One Hotspur’ player of the season, Supporters Club Player of the Season, Junior Members Player of the season and Goal of the season. Each award is voted for by ‘One Hotspur’ Official Club Members, Members of the Official Supporters Club, and under 18 One Hotspur members respectively. The Goal of the season award is voted for by members of the supporters club only, and all awards are handed out either after the final match of the season, or around that time at the club ground, with chosen fans selected to present the awards.

Award Winners Annual Award (1987-2004)

From 1987 to 2004, a single award was granted to the men's team player of the year, at the end of each calendar year.
