LARRY JACKSON Biography

Traditional Country Music Crooner Singer/Songwriter and has recorded two CD's. The Blue Highway, and Out of The Blue. He has been on several other CD's as a Guest Artist and has released seven singles on three different record labels. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Larry's father was killed in an automobile four months before his birth to the day. Larry began playing guitar at the age of 10, and by age 15 was not only playing and writing songs but was also considered an accomplished pianist. His first performance as a singer was at age 10 at a local theater in Columbus, Georgia where he grew up. He made his first recordings in 1985 for Trish Records, an Independent Record label in Columbus, Georgia. He cut two singles for Trish Records. Then in 1986, after the death of his mother he lost all interest in recording and performing and the two singles from Trish Records were only released in certain Independent Markets in Georgia at that time.

In the late part of 1987 he returned to the studios in Nashville with a contract with JDS Records owned by Jim Stephens of Aim High Productions who at that time also handled Issac Hayes, and many others, JDS cut four singles, and his JDS release "Country Music Never Let Me Down" in 1988 it had independent chart success in major independent markets in the south and northeast, then was released in country music markets in Europe, where it brought attention to Larry's talent as a heart warning smooth baritone song stylist.

Larry subsequently moved to Nashville. There he created Loree Records along with some friends.

He released his first CD on Loree Records titled "The Blue Highway", This CD was released in over 30 countries around the globe and finally Larry's name was not only on the charts but his music was being played and loved by all. The Blue Highway also trademarked his sound as a country crooner. He is smooth with a song and owns it.

In 1992 he was an honored guest on a Paris France Film Documentary titled "DREAMS", outlining his career and the success in the Worldwide Independent Country Music Community with his CD "The Blue Highway".

He completed a second CD titled "Out Of The Blue". This release has been said by many music critics to be better than the first, and some say the first CD was the best. But all have embraced both of the great sounds that Larry is putting out with true traditional country music from the soul.

Larry currently is working on a book release title "Standing In Shadows Of Sunsets", the release date at this time is unknown.

Larry says that two of his most favorite artists is Eric Anderson and Martin Del Ray. Some of Larry's favorite singers are Emmylou Harris, Tracy Nelson, Dianne Davidson, Kathy Chiavola, George Jones, Jim Reeves, and Jackson Browne.Leonard Cohen and Timi Yuro. He will be relocating back to his hometown Columbus,Georgia in the late spring of 2007 due to health problems that brought an abrupt halt to his music career.

He will still be doing special appearances on occasion, and is currently discussing bookings in Europe.
