LOGIX Communications

On August 6, 1983 American Telco, a start-up long distance company, was established by Ron Henriksen. The Telecom Act of 1996 enabled American Telco to become the first company to sign an Interconnection Agreement with Southwestern Bell making it the first facility-based telecommunications Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, also reffered to as a CLEC, in Texas. In June of 1998, American Telco was purchased by Oklahoma based LOGIX Communications Enterprises. In 2000, Henriksen formed American Lightwave. American Lightwave was established to help deliver building-based voice, data and Internet solutions. In 2002, Henriksen created Western Communications, Inc. by purchasing select customers and assets of both LOGIX and American Lightwave, and then established operations under the name LOGIX Communications, LP. In 2003, LOGIX reached Ten-Million square feet of On-Net Building coverage (LOGIX SMART Buildings) in Texas and Oklahoma. In 2004, LOGIX expanded service to Spring and The Woodlands, as well as providing free Wireless Internet Service in downtown Oklahoma City and introduced Broadband Advantage to simplify broadband access for small and medium sized businesses. In 2005, LOGIX launched its “Simply better.” marketing campaign calling attention to the company’s key competitive advantage – exceptional customer service. In 2006, Ron Henriksen was named Chairman of the Board, fifteen year LOGIX veteran, Matt Asmus, was named Chief Executive Officer and LOGIX's involvement in lobbying activities ranked them as one of the top seven lobbyists in the telecommunications industry as noted by the Wall Street Journal. In 2008, LOGIX launched Business Class MPLS Solutions, bringing the power of Fortune 500 network communication solutions to small and medium sized businesses. In 2009, LOGIX began Metro Fiber builds in its major markets and was recognized as the 3rd “Largest Houston-Area Internet Service Provider” by the Houston Business Journal. By 2011, LOGIX reached One-Hundred Million square feet of On-Net Building coverage (LOGIX SMART Buildings) in Texas and Oklahoma, and its Metro Fiber build project exceeded 700 miles of installed fiber to service customers’ Internet/data/voice needs in Multi-Tennant Buildings throughout Houston and the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. In 2012, LOGIX launched Cloud Service Solutions, offering LOGIX Managed Network Firewall and LOGIX Hosted Microsoft Exchange. 2013 marks LOGIX 30 year anniversary.
