Kubotek KeyCreator, formerly known as CADKEY, is a 3D CAD/CAM application software, mainly used in designing manufactured products, tool and die design, and manufacturing support. User applications range from design of contact lenses to aircraft. KeyCreator allows direct editing of both imported solid models and those created natively. The software is one of the class of Direct Modelers, as opposed to Parametric or History-based modelers. KeyCreator supports as standard many of the most common 3D and 2D data file formats such as DWG, DXF, Inventor, SolidWorks, STEP, SAT, Parasolid, STL, and IGES in both import and export directions.
History[edit]
In June 1996, Baystate Technologies acquired the CADKEY technology.
In November 2003, Cadkey Corporation was bought by Kubotek of Japan.
