About me[edit]

Marifer Veloz

My name is Marifer Veloz, I'm 26 years old and proudly Mexican. I'm a scientist; therefore, I love to write about science-related topics and people. Since 2020 I started being more involved in writing win Wikipedia, focusing on writing about women in science. I'm also part of a group called Mexican Female Scientists, and together with Wikimedia Mexico we've created an alliance to write more about women in science. We made that possible by creating a project entitled Wiki-Científicas Mexicanas

I have a bachelor's in nanotechnology and molecular engineering and a bachelor's in chemistry from Universidad de las Americas Puebla in Mexico. I also have a master's degree in Bioscience from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. I'm currently studying for a PhD in Bioscience at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and in neuroscience at the University of Turin.
