The group is off to a solid start and is seeking members for new growth. Besides personal projects, the first group project is a RepRap 3D printer.
History:
CT Hackerspace was started in 2010 by Jennifer Savage who was interested in starting a local space for DIY innovation. She started a facebook page to gather other interested parties.
After a few weeks, interested parties started gathering on a bi - monthly basis to discuss options (Every other Wednesday). As interest grew, meetings started to happen on a weekly basis. Meetings took place in public places that lent itself for informal meetings.
The group incorporated and has plans to seek a non profit status as their next step moving forward. After electing a board, CT Hackerspace found their initial home at Waterbury's Freight Street Gallery.
