SVFPYC HISTORY

The San Vicente Ferrer Parish Youth Ministry was said to be formed since late 1980’s wherein Susan Del Mundo been the first youth coordinator in the time OF Rev. Fr. Leo Del Carmen. Since then activities that form the youth ministry continues wherein one of this is when we participated in World Youth Day held in 1995 here at the Philippines. In year 2003. Rev. Fr. Rene Eriga changes PYM into PYC (Parish Youth Commission) because he believes that PYC Mamatid was continuously growing at that time. At that time our adviser Rochele Lazaga with our coordinator Luisa Del Mundo was very eager to form the youth ministry. When Ate Rochel goes to abroad Mommy Luigi focus on recruitment by inviting choirs like San Miguel Arcangel Youth Choir, Immaculate Concepcion Youth Choir and other youth organizations like Lingkod ng Dambana, Oratorian and Legion of Mary. The next coordinator is Renee Vic Villanueva. She focuses on youth formations and gatherings. At that time we always have Sunday gatherings. She also taught PYC animation dance. The next coordinator is Jay-L Jueco where he focuses on activities and PYC involvement in the diocese and vicariate. At this term we hosted YE batch 4 which was held at St. Vincent College, Mamatid, Cabuyao, Laguna. We also try to form youth ministry at barangays but thisdid not push through because of some problems occurred during his term. Sherwin Espina takes over the place of coordinator when Kuya JayL left the ministry where Rev. Fr. Christian Cletus Nalda gave his support to this term and even form the Youth Mass for different schools surrounding the parish. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because the number of youth members decrease. An election occurred and Kuya JayL came back into the position together with the new coregroup, Rev. fr. Seldon V. Coronado and our adviser Rochel Lazaga, we aim to build PYC through christian service by gatherings and prayers and being consistently being active into church activities.
