Steve Hamilton; born October 20, 1976) is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter. Best known for his work in comedy documentary films, he is the founder of Red Hollywood Studios.

Early life and education[edit]

Steve Hamilton was born in Oakland, California, and raised in Yolo, California. His father, Steven C. Hamilton, was a musician that did studio work with such acts as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Grateful Dead, John Fogerty and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and his mother, Doreen (Young), worked primarily in medical billing. His family was raised in the Catholic Church. Hamilton has 2 brothers, Jacob from his father's second marriage and Sean from his mother's second marriage. When Hamilton was two years old, his parents divorced. Both parents remarried, mother to Kenneth R Young, and father to new wife Susan. Hamilton lived with his mother. Hamilton never had a strong relationship with his father, who suffered from severe substance abuse problems, which ultimately took his life in 1999

Hamilton has been obsessed with sports and comedy since he was a child; his childhood heroes were Will Clark, Joe Montana, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Don Rickles and Chris Mullin. Hamilton got involved with comedy while attending Winters High School (California). He worked several jobs throughout his life including from 1995-1999 working for Sony Computer Entertainment supporting the PlayStation at the time of it's launch, the San Francisco Giants in 1999, fulfilling a lifelong dream where he met many of the men he grew up idolizing such as Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepeda, Will Clark and even lifting weights with Barry Bonds in the team's weight room, he owned a Automotive accessories company from 2001-2006, and has been employed at FriendFinder from 2006 to present while starting up Red Hollywood Studios.

Career[edit]

Hamilton has worked with such acts as Dieselino, Celly Cel, Hardnox and various other San Francisco area musical acts producing music videos. He has written 9 screenplays that have yet to sell, while selling one, a drama entitled "Pyramid" to an unnamed television network.

Upcoming films[edit]

It was announced in December 2012 that the documentary "Unimagainable - The untold story of the Chernobyl Disaster" will be produced by Red Hollywood Studios in mid 2013, scheduled for release in October 2013. All proceeds from the film will go directly to the "Friends of the Children of Chernobyl", a fund that assists the children victims of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Personal life[edit]

Hamilton’s philanthropic work includes supporting the organization "The Friends of the Children of Chernobyl" He lives in Newport Beach, California. He has a son, Jacob, 10 that resides in Winters, CA with his mother.
