Rear Admiral James Lando is an assistant Surgeon General in the States Public Health Service. Lando became regional health administrator for region 5 in November 2013, where he represented the Assistant Secretary for Health in IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, and WI^[1].

Early Life and Education[edit]

James Lando was born to Frances and Michael Lando, a jewish family living in Pittsburgh PA^[2]. James Lando graduated from Brown University with a ScB in neuroscience in 1989 and then attended Brown Medical School where he graduated in 1993 with his MD. After completing his EIS training, He went on to recieve his Masters of Public Health from the University of New Mexico.
