User:Science-vs-Acad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Science-vs-Acad is the User who is specialized in many branches of psychology and psychiatry, as well as in complex-systems theory. The User believes that many advances in science were done by competent scientists-enthusiasts and altruists, despite the hardship of poverty and ignorance from the academic establishment. At the same time, many established tenure professors do not have as broad knowledge and as much devotion to science as some of those enthusiasts and receive their position due to their family background. Sociology of science still follows the principle "who is your daddy" and gives priority to people who were recommended by the "members of the club" over people who are more knowledgeable. This leaves the scientists who came from non-Western countries outside the doors of dominating academia, even though some of these scientists spent all their career learning the subject from various multi-disciplinary perspectives. The Science-vs-Acad User hopes that Wikipedia gives equal access to building up science. This will assist in highlighting the flaws and misconceptions in various sciences, since many intelligent heads from around the world will read and will have a chance to edit its content.
