IQRF is a technology for wireless packet-oriented communication via radio frequency in sub-GHz ISM bands. It is intended for general use with various equipment where wireless connectivity is needed, either point-to-point or in complex networks. Fully open functionality depends solely on user-specific application written in C language.

Basic IQRF communication device is a transceiver module (TR) including MCU with built-in operating system (OS) implementing link layer and network layer supporting Mesh networking utilizing open IQMESH protocol. There is no higher communication level like transport layer implemented. Unlike the solution stack used e.g. by ZigBee, thanks to OS just the application program is compiled while development.

Features

  • For low speed, low power and low data volumes
  • Packet-oriented RF, up to 128 B/packet
  • SW selectable RF parameters:
  • Sub-GHz RF bands (868 MHz, 916 MHz, …), multichannel, FSK modulation
  • Bit rate 1.2 kb/s – 86.2 kb/s
  • RF output power: up to 20 mW
  • Range more than 1 km per hop, up to 240 hops per packet
  • Up to 65 000 devices in a single network
  • Very low power consumption: 380 nA standby, 25 µA receiving
  • Application code can be wirelessly uploaded into all nodes at the same time
  • No license fees
