Introduction

I'm a Ph.D. Biomedical Engineer, with an M.E. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering, and undergraduate degrees in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I have been on the faculty of both George Washington University Medical School (Department of Computerized Medicine) and The Johns Hopkins University Medical School (Department of Ophthalmology / Wilmer Eye Institute). My professional career has been spent largely in the development of medical diagnostic and therapeutic products, with some significant sidelines into mathematical modeling of biological systems. I'm currently Chief Operating Officer of LKC Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of products that diagnose disorders of the retina and optic nerve. I'm the author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications, serve on review panels for the National Institutes of Health, and hold about a dozen patents.
