From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troopathon is a fundraising event that brings together famous celebrities from radio, television, movies, music, journalism, and more to create a one-of-a-kind event with only one purpose: support the American troops on the front-lines. The Troopathon is similar to a “Jerry Lewis-style” telethon, but it instead is streamed live online and via participating radio stations. [1]

Troopathon, which kicked off its annual event in 2008, is a project coordinated by the grassroots pro-troops organization, Move America Forward. Troopathon is an eight hour event that has raised over $2 million throughout the past three years. The event is held at the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library in Orange County, CA, and has previously been hosted by Melanie Morgan, Andrew Brietbart[2] , Michelle Malkin, and Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee.[3]By bringing popular guests together, along with motivated bloggers, Troopathon spends 8 hours thanking the troops, sharing military stories, and discussing the importance of the military with some of America's most influential leaders and pro-troop activists.[4]
