From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Religious Evolution is a religious experiment that aims to combine religion and evolution. On the website of Religious Evolution, users can add and change the text of a wiki holy book. As users add to and change the text of the book, the religion contained therein will evolve. The experiment aims to combine all the religions of the world.

History[edit]

Religious Evolution was begun in 2006 by student Thomas Chaffey. The wiki has continued serving without stop, but has suffered from minimal user edits since its creation.

Theory of the Experiment[edit]

There are several key ideas on which Religious Evolution is based on. The experiment was started after a conversation in which it was hypothesised that the Bible is a "big wikipedia". The experiment realised this hypothesis, creating a religion in which user can add and edit. The experiment is based on the idea that as users do this, the religion will evolve and change. The experiment also aims to combine all religions of the world as members of each religion add a part of that religion to the book.
