I work for Saving Seafood, a nonprofit public information resource focused on issues affecting and relating to commercial fisheries in the United States and abroad. We work cooperatively with environmental organizations, scientists, fishermen, government officials, the media, and the general public to advance science-based knowledge on these matters. Currently, many of the Wikipedia articles regarding menhaden in both the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, as well as related commercial fisheries, reflect outdated and disproven science and/or demonstrably biased perspectives that lack scientific and/or historical citations. As a result, the pages do not serve Wikipedia's mission to offer comprehensive, researched and cited information in an unbiased capacity. My mission via these edits is to correct for these inaccuracies and all edits include comprehensive citations from government and scientific experts where relevant, as well as recent media coverage when appropriate. All edits are cited as specifically as possible to make as clear as possible that all revisions stem directly from researched, published materials and not from any individual's personal opinion.
