Verispex refers to certain technologies and devices in the Warhammer 40k universe used for analyzing specimens. Unlike the devices called Auspex which sense at a distance, verispex involves close inspection. Modern day equivalents would be microscopes, PCR, xray, MRI, etc.

Verispex units and devices are commonly used by the Adeptus Arbites in their investigations. Members of the Adeptus mechanicus as well as apothecaries also use verispex type equipment in their daily duties of examining specimens or monitoring patients but the term verispex is rarely used in these situations.
