Elias Bowen was a circuit rider in the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Bowen was born around 1791. He was received on trial as a circuit rider in 1814 by the Scipio circuit.[1]

In 1818, he was assigned to the Montreal circuit. Competition between the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Methodist Church of Great Britain favoured the British church, and Bowen increased membership in the Episcopal church in Montreal by only a single person that year.[1]
