Hi. If you look in the "Personal life" section of the Laurie Penny article you will see that it says "Penny stated a preference for the pronouns they/them" so we need to use those consistently in the article to avoid confusing the readers by chopping and changing or disrespecting and misrepresenting Penny by using their less preferred pronouns consistently.
