December 2017[edit]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at Hilary Rosen, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Binksternet (talk) 07:31, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that you appear to be attacking Hilary Rosen, singling her out from all the various biographies on Wikipedia that have paid editors who helped to build the articles. You could have ranted about hundreds of biographies but you picked only one: Hilary Rosen. So that's why I shut down your discussion entries on the talk page as a violation of the WP:BLP policy. Now your announcements about developments in German law can be viewed by one click but are normally hidden. Binksternet (talk) 07:37, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps You did not see diff, diff, diff or diff where I had raised the larger policy issues to a larger audience. I suggest you assume good faith. As far as the suggestion of perceived "personal attacks" on Hilary Rosen are concerned I shall take these to the appropriate forum once WWBToo returns from his X'mas break. 91.49.40.172 (talk) 08:32, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I saw your contributions before posting here. I can't help but notice that you have chosen exactly one biography out of hundreds or thousands of biographies that have at least some portion written by a paid contributor. And you have not even proven that somebody expanding the Rosen biography was paid to do so. A recent expansion was performed by Geraldshields11 who has every appearance of a volunteer. It was Geraldshields11 who changed from a small, unflattering infobox image to the professional portrait which you were complaining about here. I don't think your complaint has very strong footing. Mr. Knowles, do you possess some mystical quality to know why I chose to place a warning template on Hilary Rosen's article and on no other BLP article? Your actions smack of harassment and victimization of anonymous editors who desire to improve Wikipedia. It is strange that you do not seem to know that Ms Rosen was in the news at the time I did my edit for making certain outrageous Semitic comments example. I immediately, and equally, noticed that the images used in the news reports looked nothing like Ms. Rosen's Wikipedia image and I easily suspected it was photoshopped or morphed and I confirmed it from the image EXIF. The text of this article was also quite unlike content texts of most Wikipedia articles. It was only on reading the talk pages that I discovered that this BLP article has been written by Hilary Rosen herself and placed into Wikipedia by her employees. Since Wikipedia has a long standing consensus that all sponsored edits placed anywhere in Wikipedia must be adequately disclosed to readers I placed the appropriate templates into the article to warn readers. My action was done under the Wikipedia policy WP:PAID read with its regulations WP:COI. Insofaras Geraldshield11 is concerned perhaps he can confirm / deny that he and Ms. Rosen's employee were both committee members of Wikimedia DC's media team and he had therefore a COI for this article to place that photoshopped image of Ms. Rosen? Furthermore IMHO, as a self declared Govt employee, Geraldshields11 ought not to be editing articles like Rosen's (about controversial US political campaigners) by WP:COIPOLITICAL. 91.49.40.172 (talk) 03:49, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
