I was Wayne LaPierre's best friend from about the age of 15 to 23. There is really no doubt about that from everyone who knew us in our hometown of Roanoke, Virginia (1964-1972). Today the Wiki page says that Wayne got a master's degree. I say that cannot be allowed unless he can absolutely PROVE IT! You cannot just take his or anyone's word for it. He has told many lies about his bio. The NRA no longer even has his bio on their site, the last time I checked. They used to have a very small one. Wikipedia no longer says he got a B.A. from Siena in Education (Siena has NEVER had degrees in Education) or got a M.A. from Boston College in "Government". He must be more specific since there has not been a M.A. in "Government" at BC. And he should have to prove it. He most definitely went his junior and senior years (Fall 1969-Spring 1971) to S.U.N.Y.-ALBANY (as it was known at the time). He hides this fact to hide his left-wing political activity and his drug use. For a long time, the NRA and Wikipedia had his d.o.b. as 11-8-49, instead of the true 11-8-48. Maybe this was to throw people off the trail if they tried to check his bio. The summer of 1972, he and I went to our draft physical in Roanoke. I passed, but my lottery number was too high to be drafted. Wayne's low number (check what # d.o.b. 11-8-48 gives you) meant he would be drafted. But that day he told me he got a friendly family doctor to say he should be deferred due to a "nervous condition". I asked him if he had to take Valium or something. He said "NO, it wasn't true". He and I were strongly opposed to the war by about three-to-four years at that point. I wish some reporter somewhere had the cojones to ask him how he did not get drafted with that birthday. 97.78.237.154 (talk) 04:15, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
