Joe Byrd neutrality[edit]

In response to your comments here, I believe that the neutrality and factual accuracy of all articles on the Wikipedia is the business of all Wikipedians. Furthermore, regarding your comments here, I'm not sure what you're insinuating and about whom, but please keep it civil.

Remember that no one can own any particular article. I saw a revert war brewing so, I jumped in as a neutral party. Dispute resolution should not happen in edit summaries or page reversions, but instead in frank discussion on talk pages. Such a discussion is now on-going at the talk page, which I am very excited about. If you believe that NPOV and following copyright law should be goals of all Wikipedians, then please take some time to read through the page as a neutral party and view the images in the context of copyright laws. I think that you will see that the page certainly does have some NPOV issues (e.g. "His new security force was directed by executive order of Byrd to show muscle for the most brazen exercise of anti-democratic power in the modern history of the United States."). And the copyvio discussion is underway at the Talk page. Thanks. — Scm83x talk 21:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've seen your comments. First, I have never claimed ownership of Joe Byrd (Cherokee Chief) I've merely contributed to the article. Second, I was very civil. As you know I can be quite uncivil, but I'm trying very hard to refrain from that sort of behavior. I find it degrading and insulting that certain ones seem to be allowed to do whatever they want to and others cannot. I'm only one person in the multitudes, but I feel I have a voice too. --Bookofsecrets 13:03, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please, Scm, do not place the finger deal in your signature on my talkpage.--Bookofsecrets 13:10, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure what the issue is with the "finger deal". It is called the Hook 'em Horns sign, and it is the hand sign of the University of Texas at Austin. It is part of my signature. What reasoning do you have for the special consideration when posting on your talk page? I please ask you not to edit other's comments as you did here. — Scm83x talk 15:16, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think it is silly for one thing. I also find it offensive. I don't think I'm asking for too much. If you cannot refrain from including it please do not post on my talkpage again. I have deleted them again. It is not a part of your comments so as far as I'm concerned it doesn't count. --Bookofsecrets 12:47, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Additionally, Scm, I'm not into this lil' college boy stuff. Keep your finger deal for your fellow college folks, please. --Bookofsecrets 13:06, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bookofsecrets. I did not mean to imply that I think/thought you are/were an aggie. I was just alluding to the fact that rivals of UT make fun of the hand-sign, and I've heard them say a lot of things, but I've never heard them call it a "finger deal". I meant no offense, I was just making an observation. Best, Johntex\talk 15:05, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Johntex. No offense taken. I'm not a big college sports fan. Really I'm not a big Pro sports fan either. If the Titans get into the play-offs I'll watch 'em otherwise I stick to NASCAR and WWE. --Bookofsecrets 00:51, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Waya sahoni[edit]

I do not understand the reasons anyone would want to block Waya sahoni. It seems there are users that are clearly out to get him. Why? --Bookofsecrets 04:29, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is Wikipedia ran by residents of bedlam? You decide. --Bookofsecrets 04:55, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I wrote a note to the admin who blocked Waya sahoni asking him to reconsider. I don't know if that admin was aware of the pending arbitration before he blocked the account. The statements and threats made by Waya sahoni after being blocked will make it very difficult to convince any admin to unblock him. I personally believe that his behavior warrants a permanent ban, but only after he is given a fair hearing. — MediaMangler 05:08, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Where did he make these threats? I have not seen them. Please point them out. --Bookofsecrets 05:13, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • On his talk page he demands that certain images be removed because he "clearly didn't have permission to post any of it here. I will have to notify them immediately that their materials are being used on WP without proper permission." He admits to having violated someone else's copyright and is now threatening Wiki with the consequences of his own deliberate violation. Very few admins will have much sympathy for an editor who has admitted his purpose here was to plant materials on Wiki in violation of copyright. Assuming, that is, that he is telling the truth about the copyright status of the images. — MediaMangler 05:34, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay. I'd read that on his talkpage. After private conversations with him via email I took those comments as letting off steam. I have no idea of your cultural background, but we Cherokee, sometimes, can have a terrible time controlling our tempers. I'm not saying he is right or he is wrong. I'm merely stating that I felt he was venting, nothing more and nothing less. --Bookofsecrets 05:45, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't this strike you as a copout? Grown men who can't control their anger long enough to *not* threaten someone with a lawsuit when things don't go their way? Vigilant 05:51, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Since you asked :-). Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 06:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd only say that he typed while angry. I've been guilty of that myself. Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone. --Bookofsecrets 05:56, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I type while angry all the time, I just don't threaten the targets of my anger with federal lawsuits. Vigilant 06:00, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe you have better control of your passions than others do. If so, congradulations! Not everyone is gifted with that. I know I'm surely not. I'm plain spoken and have been known to be a real hot-head. I envy you if you do have your temper under control. --Bookofsecrets 06:04, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How much self control do you NEED not to tell people who disagree with you that you're going to SUE THEM?! Vigilant 06:23, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have never sued anyone nor have I been sued my anyone in my 42.5 years. I would not sue anyone unless it was a last resort. I understand what you are saying and I agree to a degree, but I'm not sure that others on wikipedia are not jumping to rash conclusions.--Bookofsecrets 06:33, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is your buddy "Waya sahoni" aka Jeffrey Vernon Merkey in full song[edit]
"Its how they operate. They whore people through the site and rip them off, then when they are done with you, they cast you away. What do you expect? Wales is a porn dealer, that's where his money comes from. You really think these people are any different. They don't even follow their own policies. Waya sahoni 04:24, 18 March 2006 (UTC)"
(Actually, this is a little mild for Merkey).

Go look for yourself.

He duped you with flattery. He's a manipulator. You have quite a bit of thinking to do, and hopefully some learning as well. -- talks_to_birds 05:43, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • No One has given me solid proof that Waya sahoni is Merkey. He was assisting me in learning a few things about my heritage. I don't know anything about you. Who are you? I'm not angry, but I'm excessively curious as to who you are and why you are an authority on this Merkey character and why you are so convinced that he and Way sahoni are one in the same? --Bookofsecrets 05:52, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't these seem awfully similar to each other?

He steals and distributes copyrighted materials from numerous publications and websites, and massages it into his pornographic search engines, bomis.com and wikipedia.org. He currently operates a porno distribution business over the internet and wikipedia.org, the online encyclopedia, which distributes pornography over the internet. Mr. Wales has been accussed of hate crimes by several religious organizations. Several FOSS members have alleged Wales uses libel as a tool to garner favor with hi tech millionaires in Silicon Valley by attacking their enemies and the competitors of their interests through his wikipedia.org website. Wales claims he is an "internet luminary" by virtue of his porno business and wholesale copyright infringement and IP theft over the internet. He is not listed as the creator of any technology which would warrant such a title at the uspto.gov website."

Hi[edit]

Hi, do you have any idea why Waya sahoni was blocked? I'll remain anonymous for now, reply here if you want.

  • Various wikipedians were constantly accusing him of being Jeff Merkey. He constantly told them they were mistaken in his identity. Then he was working on an article concerning Joe Byrd (Cherokee Chief) and it had gotten to be a hot topic with many disputes. Regardless of what proof or citations he presented they were not seemingly good enough. I had attempted to assist in the citations of that same article. So I feel it is a personal vendetta. --Bookofsecrets 05:30, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • My guess is that people with some ability to actually look at substantive facts read "Waya sahoni's" posts, compared them with Merkey's, did some checking of IP addresses, and realized that "Waya sahoni" is in fact Jeffrey Vernon Merkey -- something which many of us have said for a long time.
  • Merkey was blocked as User:Gadugi. Creating a sockpuppet of yourself when you are already blocked is not tolerated here. "Waya sahoni" simply called too much attention to himself with his behavior (once again...) and blew his cover.
  • Talks to birds. You are awlfully sure of yourself, aren't you? There is an arbitration that is ongoing. --Bookofsecrets 05:59, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Which Waya/Jeff was sure to lose, which is the reason he tried to withdraw the arbitration request. Anyone with significant envolvement with Linux recognizes Jeff Merkey. Many of us have dealt with him for many years. Some have even had lawsuits brought against them - Which Jeff eventually dropped when it was obvious he was going to lose (sound familiar?). Some of us have been stalked by Jeff with searches of usenet/web for dirt to use against them. Does this sound like a nice man? Believe us... Waya is Jeff and the current verbal explosion on Waya sahoni's page proves it. I'm sorry you've been used, but Jeff is a master at using people. --Jerry (Talk) 06:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • To answer your questions here and above, I was a named defendant in Merkey's lawsuit "Merkey v Perens". You might gain some insight into Merkey's true personality by taking a little while to read some of what he says. He is not a nice person. I learned to recognize Merkey from ten miles away while I was preparing my defense. -- talks_to_birds 06:21, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I scanned the aforementioned case. It tells a great deal about Jeff Merkey. However, it does not give me any indications that Waya sahoni and Jeff Merkey are on in the same. Waya sahoni has told me that he is related to Jeff Merkey, but he is not Jeff Merkey. I'm related to a great many people but that doesn't make me any one of them. --Bookofsecrets 06:35, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Waya sahoni has told me that he is related to Jeff Merkey, but he is not Jeff Merkey."
  • Ha! Enough said, there.
  • You go right ahead and believe what you want to. I know what I know. At this point you have too much at stake in the position you have taken because Merkey has sucked you into his game. Perhaps after you spend some more time with him (assuming you do not continue to be blinded by his flattery) you may be able to see him for what he is.
  • Good luck. I mean that very sincerely. You will need it.

Hi Bookofsecrets[edit]

Hey, it's been great working with you. I will take you into your true culture if you like. I'll setup a Wiki on a server for both of us to do Native American content. Let's just snatch the Ingineous Project materials and place it on this server. It'll be up later tonight at www.wikigadugi.org. Jeff said he will let me use his server since Wikipedia wants us gone. And you are a sysop and so are our friends. All my respect. Waya. Give me a couple of hours. We need a robot to start sucking wp content. W. 67.177.11.32

By the way, Bookofsecrets:[edit]

How do you feel about "Waya sahoni" stealing content from Wikipedia?

Is *that* how *you* work?

That certainly is how Merkey works.

Later... -- talks_to_birds 06:50, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

Give up on this one. He's not going to be convinced and beating your head against a brick wall doesn't change that fact. Personally - Plonk! --Jerry (Talk) 06:40, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah..
I just very sincerely wished him luck. He's going to need it... -- talks_to_birds 06:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No More Further Discussion[edit]

  • I am dropping the subject of Waya sahoni, Jeff Merkey, etc from this point forward. I suggest that no more comments be made on my talkpage in regards to these topics and I will do the same. I have no intentions of following up on the Joe Byrd article, but that is the only article in the Native American genre I plan on letting go to the wayside. I will edit to the best of my ability in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines. I will make every attempt to be a gentleman and I'll expect the same in return please. --Bookofsecrets 06:52, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving talk pages[edit]

Please don't archive short talk pages. See Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page: "It is customary to periodically archive a talk page when it becomes too large." Archiving too often and too early makes it difficult to find on-going discussions and to stay aware of controversies. Rmhermen 14:42, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've opted to stop monitoring that category presently. --Bookofsecrets 15:20, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only a Friendly Comment[edit]

  • I find it unacceptable for anyone to doubt the validity of my years and years of genealogy research into MY ancestry. I'm not in the habit of fabricating ancestors. William "Braveheart" Wallace is an uncle many generations back from myself. It is common knowledge in the region I reside which is full of Wallace descendants. --Bookofsecrets 04:21, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
