WP processes[edit]

Hello Djhbrown, after replying to the new RFC at Talk:God I also read the previous discussion. Although your account is not new, you appear to be less familiar with its particular resolution processes, but you tried to use them which is a good thing. On the other hand it is not the best approach to immediately accuse experienced editors of motivated censorship. If an editor is obviously problematic, it's possible to report them (at WP:ANI for instance, but your own editing history will also be taken in consideration by administrators). Useful links: WP:FOC, WP:ASPERSIONS. —PaleoNeonate – 02:17, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, your attempt to intimidate me is noted with some amusement that you admit to sticking your oar in without reading prior discussion!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Djhbrown (talkcontribs) 04:02, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My evaluation was about your edits to the article and irrelevant to previous comments there by other editors. But despite my friendly note about your approach, this does not appear to improve. Feel free to report me, of course. —PaleoNeonate – 04:32, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your "friendly" note? I hadn't realised it was friendly..

Warning[edit]

Your aggression and assumptions of bad faith at Talk:God ("the Christian mafia", "determined spin-doctors", "the smoke and bluster now coming out of the woodwork") and indeed above on this very page are unacceptable. Civility is policy here. Be civil and assume good faith henceforth or you will be blocked from editing. Note also that civility entails using the correct usernames for people you address. There is nobody called "Mollie" or "Neonit" here. Bishonen | tålk 07:58, 25 January 2022 (UTC).[reply]

Cleverly done, Bishonen, reversing victim and perpetrator, the very tactic used against Malcolm X in the Oxford debate http://www.brothermalcolm.net/2003/mx_oxford/index.html Djhbrown (talk) 08:43, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see any reason not to block you now. Unless you agree to be WP:CIVIL and assume good faith from now on. If you want to know how I came here, it was because I saw that a clerk had removed your arbitration case request. Doug Weller talk 10:45, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recantation of Brown Brown[edit]

my phrases in God:Talk and this page complained about by Bishonen have been exorcised by me. I, Brown, son of the late John Brown, not Florentine, aged seventy-two years, arraigned personally before this tribunal, and kneeling before you, Most Eminent and Reverend Lord Grandmaster against heretical depravity throughout the entire Wikipedia commonwealth, having before my eyes and touching with my hands, the Holy Gospels, swear that I have always believed, do believe, and by God's help will in the future believe, all that is held, preached, and taught by the Holy authors of the God page. But whereas -- after an injunction had been judicially intimated to me by this Holy Office, to the effect that I must altogether abandon the false opinion that God was invented by hunter-gatherers 37,000 years ago, and that I must not hold, defend, or teach in any way whatsoever, verbally or in writing, the said false doctrine, and after it had been notified to me that the said doctrine was contrary to Holy Scripture -- I wrote and printed a paper in which I discuss this new doctrine already condemned, and adduce arguments of great cogency in its favor, without presenting any solution of these, and for this reason I have been pronounced by the Holy Office to be vehemently suspected of heresy, that is to say, of having held and believed that people should be told the truth,

Therefore, desiring to remove from the minds of your Eminences, and of all faithful, this vehement suspicion, justly conceived against me, with sincere heart and unfeigned faith I abjure, curse, and detest the aforesaid errors and heresies, and generally every other error, heresy, and sect whatsoever contrary to the said God page, and I swear that in the future I will never again say or assert, verbally or in writing, anything that might furnish occasion for a similar suspicion regarding me; but that should I know any heretic, or person suspected of heresy, I will denounce him to this Holy Office, or to the Inquisitor or Ordinary of the place where I may be. Further, I swear and promise to fulfill and observe in their integrity all penances that have been, or that shall be, imposed upon me by this Holy Office. And, in the event of my contravening, (which God forbid) any of these my promises and oaths, I submit myself to all the pains and penalties imposed and promulgated in the sacred canons and other constitutions, general and particular, against such delinquents. So help me God, and these His Holy Gospels, which I touch with my hands.

I, the said Brown Brown, have abjured, sworn, promised, and bound myself as above; and in witness of the truth thereof I have with my own hand subscribed the present document of my abjuration, and recited it word for word at Internet, in the Convent of Minerva, this twenty-fifth day of January, 2022.Djhbrown (talk) 11:59, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I see you have removed some references to the "Christian mafia" at Talk:God, and instead made a less than subtle reference to the Inquisition above. You have been blocked indefinitely as not being here to help build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. For information of any reviewing admin, see [1], some ways down the page. You can make a search for e. g. the phrase "abjured, sworn, promised, and bound myself". Bishonen | tålk 12:53, 25 January 2022 (UTC).[reply]

The block was probably because the end lacked "year 2022 of our Lord"... Jokes aside, I was about to try to assist on how to alter or redact posts that have already been replied to, using striking tags and notes (<s>...</s> per WP:REDACT). Other things to note are the hat notes at the God article that point at other articles. If Wikipedia was censored about religion and its origins, it would not have articles like deity, venus figurine, religiosity, monotheism, polytheism, Epic of Gilgamesh (with evidence of a polytheistic myth later adapted for monotheism), evidence of common descent and many others. My participation at the RFC was as an independent uninvolved editor who saw its notification. Although editors should not let their personal beliefs dictate how they edit, I'm an agnostic. It's unfortunate to see someone who can obviously write, but makes such a big deal of the first editing incident to end up blocked. These will be my last words here unless you are unblocked. Indefinite blocks are not necessarily forever and can be appealed. If you eventually would like to edit again, I suggest to wait a bit to cool down and then appeal taking WP:NOTTHEM in consideration. Unlike the above it should be concise and convincing that you intend to more effectively collaborate and improve the encyclopedia... The defensive attitude was also unnecessary (WP:BRD and WP:CONSENSUS are standard practice when editing, so is WP:WARN and an effort was made to avoid impersonal templates above). WP is a collaborative project and interaction part of it. If you're eventually unblocked, I'm open again to provide guidance, but I don't do formal mentoring (some editors do WP:MENTOR).
