This user advocates unified discussion, if you comment here, I will reply on your talk page and move the entire discussion to your talk page in the process; I would prefer it if you did the same, moving the thread back here for your reply. That way the discussions will always stay together and the intended recipient will see the message alert when he or she logs on. If you create a broken discussion by replying here while leaving my comments on your talk page, I may leave the discussion as is and continue the broken discussion, or I may reunite the discussion in my reply, depending on what I think makes more sense. Thanks.

[edit] Stellenbosch to bid for Wikimania 2012!
Hi Doug!
The nascent South African Wikimedia chapter has decided to bid to host Wikimania in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2012. This would be the first Wikimania in South Africa, and would be a great advertisement for our country. Please take a look at meta:Wikimania_2012/Bids/Stellenbosch. If you can add to the discussion, please do. If you feel that you are able to do anything to help, please join the Wikimedia South Africa mailing list and let us know. Even simple messages of support are valued!
Best regards,

Hi! See this request about what we were talking yesterday.--Nickanc (talk) 12:47, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- Nickanc, I chatted with mcbride about this and he made it sound pretty simple and that via your ts account it would be unnecessary to download all the dumps.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 16:44, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Advice?
Hi, Doug, I saw your name on a list at WP:ASSIST. I've become involved in a trivial dispute in an unimportant article, Pastizz, and would appreciate advice on what, if anything, to do about it. Walk away is obviously one valid possibility, and the best from my own point of view; but that would leave verifiability and perhaps ownership concerns unresolved. If you happen to have time to take a look, I'd be grateful. Thanks! (I've watch-listed this page, so will see if you reply) Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:49, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- JLaN, it looks like you have decided to step back and leave it alone and I agree with this though I do understand your concerns. Basically, it's not worth it. Options you have though are to take it to WP:3RR or WP:DRN for more comments. Good luck.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 07:32, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
