I have never liked the first sentence in the History section. Eckerd College opened in 1960, too late for the GIs of WWII, who returned in the mid-to-late 1940s, and too early for their children, who were not yet of college age. Firm, verifiable research is needed on the reasons Eckerd College was founded. My impression is that the lack of a Presbyterian college in Florida was an important factor. (3/2006)

Photographs and many paragraphs were added over the Christmas holidays. Some sections were edited to remove material that would not typically be found in a print encyclopedia, as suggested by Wikipedia guidelines for contributors. Also, some of the numerical data was edited since what was posted was not verifiable, as called for by Wikipedia guidelines. (12/2005)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:EC-Header.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EC-Header.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:52, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So...[edit]

i saw your username on the Eckerd College talk page, and i'm wondering, are you student or faculty? very few people know about the school who haven't actually been there -TinGrin 04:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC) (Former EC Student)[reply]

Sorry to be late in responding, but my Wikipedia activity has been rather limited lately. To answer your question, I am married to an alumnus and so I see lots of mailing, etc. about Eckerd College. - Eckwriter (talk) 22:04, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
