Image on the Menai Suspension Bridge page[edit]

Hello, the photo, which you seem rather eager to use, seems rather low resolution and is artistically weaker than the one which was already in use (and has been since 2010). And it doesn't matter that the lead image for this page does not match the image used from WikiData. I won't revert it again, as I don't want to start an edit war, but I'd like you to reconsider reverting to the original image.Obscurasky (talk) 14:25, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, just checked and the image is very high resolution at 4,656 × 3,492 pixels. On the point of being artistically weaker, this is just an opinion and therefore is not a reason why I should revert it. Furthermore, as you've said it has been the same image since 2010 and therefore I believe that it needed to be updated. As someone who is local to this location o believe that this image is a more relevant one. Johnogwen123 (talk) 15:41, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just because the picture (as used) is high resolution, it doesn't follow that the original photo (when taken) was. Certainly the image appears graney and there is poor definition of the far coastal vegetation and furthest bridge pier - which are indications of low resolution. The double yellow lines and road encroaching on the object of interest are distracting and the (green) colour of the grass seems to have been artificially enhanced. The setting/backdrop is dark and uninteresting. I don't follow the bit about it 'needing to be updated'. I guess it could be argued that it's nice to have a change, but as the bridge itself hasn't altered materially between the time of the two photos the new one couldn't reasonably be said to be an 'updated' image. These are the reasons why I prefer the previous image (which I have no connection to). You are correct, of course, to say that this is opinion - sometimes though it's good to take other people's opinions on board.
Just to be clear, I won't be contesting this edit further, but I'd still like you to reconsider. Regards, Obscurasky (talk) 15:28, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
