Jordan Serlin helped to invent the "Genie" web browser, allowing blind people to browse the web via voice commands versus utilizing a TTY keyboard. The system he developed apparently is still in use by Microsoft as part of the Internet Explorer package. Additionally, one of his companies developed a "battlefield awareness" system in conjunction with the USAF, so that soldiers on the ground could see live video feeds from cameras on Unmanned drone aircraft on a handheld device. From a military perspective, many would claim that this is a major first.
