Request reason:

I request an unblock on the basis that the blocking reason, vandalism, is not just. The person who applied the vandalism block believes that I have somehow impacted on the integrity of the Wikipedia article for Lord Grabiner. However, I believe that it is quite the opposite. As Lord Grabiner represents Liverpool Football Club in the High Court this week it is important to note not only in syntax his excellent work but also in semantics, which I suggest is YNWA. The person who claimed that I impacted negatively on the integrity of the article obviously is unaware of the meaning of YNWA (read: You'll Never Walk Alone). It is awarded with great distinction by Liverpool FC fans on those that provide great service to Liverpool FC. I simply applied the YNWA anagram at the end of Lord Grabiner's page to honour his positive impact on Liverpool FC and add more to the article's meaning. A single YNWA at the end of an article about a kind (and in this case paid) contributor to Liverpool FC is, IMHO, fully warranted and should not be treated as an act of vandalism, but as an act of gratitude and respect.

Decline reason:

YNWA is not a formal title, and has no business being inserted into an encyclopedia regardless of its meaning. Edit-warring to try and keep it in the article is also never permitted - please see WP:BRD (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:48, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My response to this decline is that an encyclopedia should be a comprehensive reference work, which is what many people see Wikipedia as. Formal titles are not the single and only attribute that has business being part of an encyclopedia. As per my first request unblock I strongly believe that adding YNWA to Lord Grabiner's page adds meaning and enhances the semantics of the article. This is still my position and one that is complementary to Wikipedia articles. As for the 'edit-warring' I can only say that it should not have got to the 3rd level, but its apparent that some moderators do not see YNWA as added value, where added value does exist in more than one persons mind, and thus should not have been removed in the first place. I now request that you acknowledge that my placing of YNWA is not an act of vandalism, remove such a title from my username, restore my original priviledges, and acceptand work to ensure that a moderator job is to make sure that Wikipedia's integrity has to be safeguarded by a wide range of public opinion and not just the opinion of a select moderator(s).

Adding an apparently meaningless string of letters to an article does not improve it. You were warned to stop but continued to do so.  —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 16:07, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

"Adding an apparently meaningless string of letters to an article does not improve it. You were warned to stop but continued to do so." - moderator. In response to your second decline I can only ask that the moderator reads the text of my first request where I establish the history and positive connotations of YNWA. Describing it as apparently meaningless string of letters is like saying that E=MC2 is apparently meaningless. I believe that if you were you read the Lord Grabiner article to the end then the context would be set, which allows YNWA to be easily understood. I'd politely ask the moderator(s) to seek other opinion from different domains of expertise in this matter, for example ask 10 people in the real world if they understand the meaning of YNWA in the context of Lord Grabiner who recently represented Liverpool Football Club. Once again I believe that the added value of attributing YNWA is obvious to many, and as such should be seen as an additional attribute that enhances the overall article by illustrating that the man is held in great esteem by Liverpool FC fans. Can the next moderator (bear in mind that there have been many reviewing so far) please read all aspects of my argument instead of making an apparent quick judgement. In addition, could a moderator familiar with football matters, yet unbiased towards Liverpool, be sought as a moderator. Once again, I ask to acknowledge that selectively adding YNWA where appropriate is not an act of vandalism, remove 'vandal' title from my username, restore privileges, and really work to seek wider opinions.

Your unblock request makes it clear that if unblocked, you would continue the behavior which got you blocked in the first place. Smashvilletalk 19:34, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Your unblock request makes it clear that if unblocked, you would continue the behavior which got you blocked in the first place"- moderator. To avoid a circular argument I'll simply point out that it is my belief that attributing Lord Grabiner's Wikipedia article with the YNWA acronym originally added value, still adds value, and would add value in the future. Maybe you require more than an acronym, which could certainly be facilitated with the YNWA acronym, a breakdown of the acronym (You'll Never Walk Alone), and some helpful context as to why Lord Grabiner deserves it?

At this point, it's obvious that you aren't getting the message; your block has been adjusted to remove your ability to edit this talk page due to abuse of unblock requests. If you wish to contest the block further, you may do so by contacting the Arbitration Committee, at arbcom-l‐at‐lists.wikimedia.org. Tony Fox (arf!) 20:28, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
