hello, this is my first time editing an article for Wikipedia and i have a few questions.

(1) i am currently testing my article in my personal sandbox; however, if i want to "save" the page it says "if you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here. All text that you did not write yourself, except brief excerpts, must be available under terms consistent with Wikipedia's Terms of Use before you submit it." i thought the purpose of a sandbox was to test content? am i using the wrong sandbox template? what's the purpose of the various "template" options?

(2) when linking to external websites, ie) the Governor General Awards' page, would i create a footnote? or is there a different way of linking to external websites? is it recommended to underline the content you are linking?

(3) when i click "show changes" it has a disclaimer that says that this template should not be used for writing biographies of living people because i had written {{newpage}} at the top. are you only supposed to write that when writing your actual article? we are writing a biography on a living person.

Please advise. Thank you. KrissComm (talk) 15:05, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
