A notice[edit]

I will be quite inactive in wikipedia until March because of an exams period in NTUA. I will be keeping an eye here, and sporadically edit or add content but not much. Anyone who is interested in promoting this idea of a wikiProject is welcome to improve anything he/she thinks is proper. Oh, and thanks in advance for the interest! -- Michalis Famelis 22:25, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject template[edit]

This article is part of WikiProject Greek and Turkish wikipedians board of cooperation, an attempt to coordinate constructive editing of articles in which Greek and Turkish POVs often conflict according to Wikipedia ideals such as Assume good faith and Staying cool when editing gets hot. If you would like to participate, you can edit the article attached to this page, or visit the project page, where you can join the project and/or contribute to the discussion.

I have created these two templates. The code can be found here. Feel free to comment and/or modify. -- Michalis Famelis 17:24, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on the main page[edit]

Firstly I must admit that I feel an inclination to move them here!! Apart from that, I am very happy to see interest in for this project from fellow wikipedians! I am creating a section in the main page titled "To do list". I will pin there a few articles I can quickly think of that could be of interest to this project. Please feel free to add/remove as you see fit. That would give some starting place for those that are interested in getting things started. Personally, as I have noted above, I will be consumed by examinations madness for a while, so I will be a bit inactive, but please feel free to advance the project if you like.

As yet these pages are only a draft proposal, but I will place a notice at Wikipedia:Wikiproject/List of proposed projects. If there are enough of us gathered we can enlist this in the Wikipedia:List of WikiProjects, move this page out of my userspace and get this thing moving as a real wikiproject.

Willing participants[edit]

I'm neither Greek nor Turkish but Irish and live in Athens and have a great interest for the common history of the wider region. I'd be interested in participating.--Damac 19:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Still interested --Kalogeropoulos 19:13, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Me too - let's see what one can do... --katpatuka 18:32, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Still interested -- Eşref 17:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a week since I notified everyone who had shown interest in the project and so far out of 15 people, 5 (including myself) have said they are still interested. I am in a bit of doubt here. Should we call the whole thing off on the grounds that there are not enough participants? Or should we go on and make it official hoping that more of the initial 15 (and possibly others) will show a revitalized interest in the (near?) future? --Michalis Famelis 18:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am still interested too. Sometimes, time considerations override what we would like to do. --Cretanforever 19:31, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Still interested --Hattusili 10:23, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds like a good idea. I thought of the same thing after seeing all the edit wars on those pages. --Awiseman 05:55, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
