Hi Mosi Nuru,

Were you inspired to enter the conversation on Talk:Eyferth study after seeing this post on Twitter? If so, I would encourage you to read our policy on so-called "meat puppetry". I say this not to accuse you of bad faith –– being alerted to an article's alleged shortcomings off-Wiki by no means disqualifies you from participating in discussion –– but just to provide you with a bit of context about how we protect ourselves from of vote brigading.

I'm also wondering if you may have been the person editing from IP 40.131.178.46 before registering your account. If so, you need to be aware that instances of WP:CANVASSing like this [1][2] are violations of behavioral guidelines. You're not expected to know all this as a brand-new user, but now that I've informed you you are.

I will also leave the standard notice about contentious topics below. Best wishes, Generalrelative (talk) 21:38, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is there something constructive you're hoping to accomplish here, or are you just trying to bug a new editor by hand-waiving at a bunch of policies and vaguely implying that I might have violated them? Mosi Nuru (talk) 21:55, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm hoping to help you become a constructive member of the community here, despite our difference of opinion. You are of course free to decline to answer my questions. And I'm certainly not trying to bug you. I'll leave you alone if that's what you prefer. Generalrelative (talk) 22:11, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently been editing the intersection of race/ethnicity and human abilities and behaviour, which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
