Mendel

I reverted your name order change in the Pendolino article, because "JOHANN GREGOR MENDEL" was the name of the train service in question, whatever the monk-scientist's correct name order was. However, I tried to do some research on the real person's name. I did not come up with anything definitive, but it appears to me that there is no fixed name order: these are not first and second given names, but given name (Johann) and monk name (Gregor(ius)), of which Mendel only used the monk name (including a signature in an image at the Mendel Museum site). He is then called "Johann Gregor Mendel" and "Gregor Johann Mendel" in various sources. --Rontombontom (talk) 11:14, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
