Rick Harrison[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Rick Harrison, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, material obtained through personal knowledge, or which constitutes the an analysis or interpretation by the editor that is not found in cited sources. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Hi, Pawnstar. Thanks for contacting me. I have a feeling that it might be considered non-reliable by the community, but just to make sure, I started a discussion at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard. Let's see what they have to say. Nightscream (talk) 16:47, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid not. Spokeo is an aggregator of information from other sources, and exercises neither editorial oversight nor responsibility. In fact, the paragraph the biographical text on Harrison is clearly taken from his Wikipedia article, not only inasmuch as the text is identical, but there's even a link to the article. Websites that mirror Wikipedia or its content are not reliable under WP:MIRROR, because that's circular sourcing. There was even a discussion on Spokeo that reached that conclusion on the Reliable Sources Noticeboard here. Nightscream (talk) 23:38, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I asked at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard, and the response I got was that Facebook and Instagram are not considered reliable. Nightscream (talk) 04:57, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's a wiki. It allows users to edit the info, as indicated by the "(edit info) (img)" button in the upper right corner of the center column. Sites with user-generated content, such as imdb, TV.com, Patch Media, other wikis, open forums or message boards, etc., are not reliable under WP:USERG. Nightscream (talk) 00:32, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure that a site that requires membership and a login is considered the best source. But in any event, that site indicates that it uses public documents for its content, and WP:PRIMARY precludes us from using public documents for to support assertions about a living person. Nightscream (talk) 04:20, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's odd. That source is already cited in the article for the June 2 date. Did How Rich update that webpage, or something? Anyway, I fixed the date in Harrison's WP article. Thanks for working with me on this. Nightscream (talk) 04:09, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

Those are called userboxes, and you can learn about them at Wikipedia:Userboxes. I don't recall at this point where I found the ones I used on my user page, but I probably saw them on other editors' pages, and use the ones that I liked, or that applied to me, like "this user uses Firefox", or "this user is Italian", etc. Thanks for the barnstar, buddy. :-) Nightscream (talk) 04:04, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
