MTV Roadies is a reality television show aired on MTV India. It is currently in its fifth season. The show was created by Raghu Ram and is hosted by Rannvijay. The maximum prize for winning the show is Rs 500,000.

Selected Roadies are given Hero Honda Karizma bikes to travel all over India on a pre-decided route. Season Five is the first time the game goes international. It will cover three countries which are Thailand and Malaysia. Roadies are given tasks at every destination. They are either Money or Immunity tasks or Advantage Tasks.
Roadies earn a particular amount of money on completion of a Money task. However,if they lose, this amount is deducted from the maximum prize.
An Immunity task could be team based or individual where Roadies have to perform certain tasks to be immune from the next vote-out. A vote-out takes place each week where all the Roadies have to vote out one of the non-immune Roadies, thus eliminating him/her. An Advantage task could be team based or individual based where Roadies have to performs certain tasks to be able to vote in the next vote-out. The last Roadie standing is declared winner and takes away the grand prize.
The fifth season is the first time when an advantage task is introduced. The winner/s of an advantage task get(s) some advantage in the next vote out. This was first introduced in the third episode of the fifth season where the winners were the only one eligible to vote someone out. In addition, there are twists and complications which might be applicaple in certain vote outs. The following is a lists of twists by season:
Season 4
- Bani was voted out but the person whom Bani voted out was eliminated.
- In Jaipur, a double vote out was introduced for the first time.
Season 5
- In episode 1, a double vote out took place.
- In episode 3, a very major accident took place on the way to Hospet, and the injured Ayaaz and Shambhavi couldn't participate in the tasks given to the Roadies. Later in the episode, an advantage task was introduced where only the winners were allowed to vote for elimination. Shambhavi was given advantage without doing anything, which was unfair as Ayaz was also injured and he did not get the advantage.
- In episode 4, all the non-immune Roadies tried their luck on a roulette table. Shambhavi won and was given the Immunity and was also to decide whom to rip the Immunity off. She picked Prabhjot.Snehashish was voted out.
- In episode 5, it happened for the first time in MTV Roadies 5 years history that no Roadie gained immunity or advantage as there was a draw in the Immunity task. The twist was it was told in vote-out that if there is a draw between the two Roadies in getting the highest number of votes against them, then both those Roadies will be safe and again all the Roadies will vote with those two Roadies safe to vote-out one from rest of the six. Prabhjot & Anmol both garnered highest and equal votes against them i.e. four and were safe as per the twist, finally Ankita was eliminated there.
- In episode 6, another accident took place. This time it was Ashutosh and Sonel, both escaped with minor injuries. Prabhjot was chosen captain for immunity task along with co-captain Shambhavi and none of the teams were able to get immunity. Ashutosh was not chosen by either of the captains. In the vote out there was a twist, it was Ashutosh who had to grant immunity to either of the teams. Shambhavi's team was granted immunity and with this twist, out of the seven remaining roadies, six voted against Prabhjot. Sonel was really sad and cried for her voting Prabhjot.
- In episode 7, the roadies reach their last destinaton, Chennai, before they can head to Thailand and Malaysia.
The twist is that 5 deserving, previously voted out roadies- Ankita Bajaj, Vikrant, Prabhjot, Vibhor and Snehashish are called back. According to Raghu Ram, only the deserving roadies would go abroad.
